The site of the Strip Mall used in the movie is only about a half a mile from the sound studio in downtown Torrance where Ice Cube with NWA recorded “Straight outa Compton” I imagine Ice knew that neighborhood well, as it’s also where, after being hassled by the Torrance police, NWA wrote the Famous rap song “F*** the Police” Having grown up in “whitebread Torrance”(This strip mall is a mile from my old childhood home) in the 50 to the 70’s, can I say I grew up in the “hood”?

I grew up in this neighborhood back in the late 60’s to early 70’s and I did recognize the strip mall. I think we only lived a mile or less from this area. Wow, it is amazing that I still recognize the place from 1971.

I owned the 3 houses in your film in San Pedro. The one in front of the house on 12th and centre. Where Sant a turns to go into his little house. Which we woned. Al the house decorated from where the chased Santa thru the house. You see my house with lights on but dark. They wanted to film there. But they couldn’t get ahold of us.
